Dental Assistant Combined with Dental Office Assistant
Approximately a twenty week course for those interested in the field of dentistry. The student will be exposed to dental terminology and basic chair side assisting skills as well as assisting in the office. Students should possess strong work ethic and interpersonal skills in order to be successful. Students will be given information on the organizations that represent the many members of the dental team. Students will obtain an understanding of the communications required to effectively manage a dental office. A general knowledge and introduction to book keeping, dental insurance, basic accounting and coding. Billing procedures are introduced. Students will touch on tooth charting, numbering, permanent and deciduous teeth. Students will learn tooth surface and perio-charting. Students will be introduced to dental health, specialties, and general practices. Students will learn proper OSHA regulations, MSDS sheets recording, Ergonomics Consultant Act, Americans With Disabilities Act, Fair Credit Act and HIPAA procedures. Fee includes books.
Class Schedule: The next class is planned for September 2017, providing all students have completed the enrollment process.
Dental course is scheduled for Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM.
Registration Fee: Pretesting by appointment is required at $25 by money order.
Fees: Tuition and Book $1,200.00 due upon acceptance into this program.
